Façade signs and lettering
Name and logotype on the building, in a technique that suits the substrate. The façade dictates the answer — the same sign does not go on composite panel and on stone.
With a façade sign, half the job is the substrate. A ventilated façade, an insulation system, glass, concrete and stone need four different fixing solutions — and only once that is settled does material and colour make sense to discuss. Drilling through insulation without spacers and sealing creates the spot where damp shows up in winter.
The other half is how the sign holds up over years. Painted letters on a south elevation shift tone, thin stainless ripples, and film on glass cleaned with harsh agents loses its edge. So we choose the material against the orientation, the height, and who will maintain the building and with what.

Frequently asked questions
Not if the fixing is resolved before drilling. On insulation we use spacers and sealing, on ventilated façades we hang off the sub-structure. On new buildings the solution is agreed with the façade contractor.
It depends on orientation and paint system. For south elevations we use more durable coatings; the tone shifts on any material eventually, the question is only how soon.
