Car park and garage marking

The garage is the first and last impression of a building. If a level is not memorable, a visitor hunts for the car on the way out — and that is what they remember longest.

In a garage everything reduces to two questions: which way now, and where is my car. The first is answered by routes to the pedestrian exit and the lift core; the second by making the level memorable — by colour, number and a name that is more than a number. A level called "level −2" is not remembered; the same level with a clear colour and mark is remembered effortlessly.

Alongside that comes what a garage must have regardless of comfort: marked escape routes, fire equipment signs, height barriers and bays reserved for disabled users and for EV charging. We design both layers together, because in practice they end up on the same columns and the same wall.

Frequently asked questions

They do not, and usually should not. Level colours are chosen to be distinguishable from each other under the lighting the garage actually has; the brand stays on entrance signs and in the lobby.

Lighter backgrounds, larger formats and photoluminescent escape marking are combined. If lighting is below any reasonable level we say so — signage cannot substitute for light.

We mark walkways, sectors and special bays. Full carriageway painting is planned together with the flooring contractor, because of cleaning regimes and surface preparation.
